"Nihongaka" means a painter of Japanese traditional painting (Nihonga).
Nihonga is produced by traditional materials,
such as powdered mineral pigment, gold leaf, paper, brushes and ink.
Nihonga is based on traditions over a thousand years old,
in this site mainly introduces young painters challenging new Nihonga possibilities.
